Abstract Submission
ESFR invites researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds (psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science, law …) to submit abstracts describing empirical or methodological research on “Families in a Changing Europe: Challenges, Conflicts and Interventions” and related sub-themes
There is a choice of three formats:
• Proposed Symposium (both invited symposia and open symposia)
• Individual Paper
• Individual poster
Proposed Symposia
Symposia:
The Chair(s) of a Symposium is expected to recruit a group of participant contributors and a discussant, and to submit an integrative abstract (max. 300 words) delineating the topic. The Chair of the Symposium should also submit the abstracts (max. 300 words) of each presentation. Contributions should stem from different research groups. Symposia which include contributions from at least two different countries will be preferred.
Proposals for invited Symposia should include:
| a) | 3 or 4 presentations and a discussant. The title of the Symposium and the title of each presentation. |
| b) | The names, affiliations and addresses of authors; name, affiliation and address of the discussant; and names and address of the organizers. |
| c) | The e-mail address of each participant should also be listed. |
| d) | Title and 300-word integrative statement describing the general topic. |
Proposed symposium proposals must be submitted no later than 15. March, 2012
Open Symposia: - IS NOW CLOSED
Paper Abstracts
You can submit a paper proposal (abstract-300 words) either for participating in
- a paper session organised by the scientific committee of the congress
- one of the open symposia announced on the website
Presentation abstracts must include:
| a) | Contact information: name, academic degree, position title, organization, address, telephone, email. |
| b) | Paper title. |
| c) | Abstract of presentation (max. 300 words), including theoretical basis for the presentation, the research questions, methods (including sample size), analyses and results. |
| d) | If you want to participate in one of the open symposia announced on the website. |
The accepted abstract will be placed in thematic sessions/open symposia by the local organization committee.

The abstracts will be reviewed by the ESFR Scientific Committee and the local organization committee. A notification of acceptance will be sent to proposers not later than 1. May 2012.
Accepted open symposia will be announced at the website 29. February.
Individual posters
Posters are recommended when the contribution is strongly data-based and therefore particularly suited for graphic or visual presentation. Individual posters will be grouped into thematically homogeneous poster sessions by local organization committee. The Congress program includes the possibility to hold an interactive poster session.
Submissions should include:
| a) | Contact information: name, academic degree, position title, organization, address, telephone, email. |
| b) | Poster title. |
| c) | Abstract (up to 300 words). |
